Even if it's a book that I think I'll like but just wasn't in the mood for at the time, it can be hard to pick it up again. I would think it would just make it harder if it was a book by a favorite author that you really want to like because if it's still not the right book at the time you read it, it will just make it even harder to pick it up the next time.

I keep wondering what will happen when BZ shows up too. I liked him so much better than Sparks.Kristenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01700004253248186101noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5146259764837045872.post-12418675522549348412010-04-18T18:09:17.122-04:002010-04-18T18:09:17.122-04:00Another part of my problem with The Summer Queen i...Another part of my problem with The Summer Queen is that I did start reading it several years ago and for some reason I now can't remember, I stopped. I don't think it was the story itself, but some other outside influence - and getting stressed about what would happen when BZ met up with Moon again with Sparks hanging around. I'm weird like that and get all worried about that kind of stuff and give myself a complex.

I want it to be fantastic and while I don't remember lack-of-fantasticness being a factor is stopping reading it, I'm afriad if I didn't finish it once, I might not finish it again. And I want it to be amazing.

Which is probably pretty stupid considering I've liked every other one of Vinge's books I've read, but still...

Does any of this even make sense? I'm not 100% sure I understand it myself, but it leads to this fear of actually starting the book.Kerryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01829070558793881064noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5146259764837045872.post-35049245493439975302010-04-18T17:08:33.689-04:002010-04-18T17:08:33.689-04:00Kerry - Thank you! I'm sure it's wonderful but it looks like it could easily take a month to read from start to finish unless maybe I was on vacation...Kristenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01700004253248186101noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5146259764837045872.post-38020162410202207822010-04-18T16:53:58.372-04:002010-04-18T16:53:58.372-04:00Great review. The first book in another series by Joan D. Vinge is on mine as well - Psion.
