Reading it made me all nostalgic for those types of books, although it was still a lot different because of the fantasy part of it. I did like the combination of genres quite a bit - I hadn't read anything quite like it before.Kristenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01700004253248186101noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5146259764837045872.post-82133608342234390142009-08-30T22:44:41.661-04:002009-08-30T22:44:41.661-04:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.bks2plzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06968409410257799494noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5146259764837045872.post-66659049156527579592009-08-30T21:29:22.551-04:002009-08-30T21:29:22.551-04:00I am hooked. I am a sucker for gothic stuff, although I have yet to read all about it. :) The Guard actually sounds like the gothic version of Captain Planet, plus London in the late 19th century is always a favorite place for me to visit. For some reason I also though of Jane Eyre, before seeing that you have mentioned the novel.Harry Markovhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09140305922494369576noreply@blogger.com
