It's not a book I could see myself rereading a lot, though.

Range - Thanks for your comment. That is a good point about the action sequences - they were much more frequent and better written in Mistborn. I did enjoy the unique fights in Mistborn; it was much more imaginative than two people whacking at each other with swords. Sanderson did a good job of describing them and making you visualize them in your head easily even though they were unusual.Kristenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01700004253248186101noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5146259764837045872.post-2085003021134111292008-06-13T07:26:00.000-04:002008-06-13T07:26:00.000-04:00Enjoyed the review, and use your blog as a resourc...Enjoyed the review, and use your blog as a resource. Two things that you'll hear Brandon admit in interviews is that he's obsessed with politics and magic building.

Beyond your mentions, the other thing that troubled me with this was book were the action sequences. Even though I enjoyed the book and its unique storyline, the action scene at the end wrapped things up, for me, with a dull thud.

Clearly, Brandon figured out to write better action sequences for the Mistborn series. When I picked up The Final Empire, I was amazed at how ambitious he was.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5146259764837045872.post-25771968639539899742008-06-13T03:54:00.000-04:002008-06-13T03:54:00.000-04:00I liked the book.
