I read Cry Wolf--the first in her Alpha and Omega series and Dragon Bones, which is the first of a fantasy duology she wrote awhile back. Both were very enjoyable.Angiegirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00353676756221692186noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5146259764837045872.post-35296636782952434412009-03-10T18:26:00.000-04:002009-03-10T18:26:00.000-04:00Tia - The covers are very misleading. I too would definitely expect sex galore if judging the book solely on the outside.

There are vampires but they only show up once or twice (although from what I've heard, they show up more in the second book). I'm not a fan of vampires either, but I did really like how Mercy dealt with them.Kristenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01700004253248186101noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5146259764837045872.post-60159359351126582132009-03-10T02:12:00.000-04:002009-03-10T02:12:00.000-04:00I, too have been put off by the covers of this ser...I, too have been put off by the covers of this series which, based on your review, must present a distorted picture of the story within. I would not expect a church-going, clean-talking heroine behind this cover. I certainly would expect sex.

I sighed when I got to the part about vampires, but other than that, your review made me more curious about the series. Great job!Tia Nevitthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05489109929908389257noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5146259764837045872.post-91182581673621403822009-03-09T20:41:00.000-04:002009-03-09T20:41:00.000-04:00Angiegirl - Mercy is a great character. Have you read any of the books in other series Patricia Briggs has written?

Orannia - Thank you! I loved that Mercy was very sensible too and I am glad to hear she will stay true to who she is. :)

And I am so glad to hear you liked Melusine. The last book comes out in about a month so you won't have a long wait for the rest of the series!Kristenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01700004253248186101noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5146259764837045872.post-82408439166185100452009-03-09T18:04:00.000-04:002009-03-09T18:04:00.000-04:00Lovely review Kristen! Am so glad you enjoyed the book :) Mercy is a great character - I love how..sensible she is.

...which she is not unless she undergoes some sort of drastic personality transplant in the next few books.

More as an FYI - Patricia Briggs' husband Mike posted on the Bone Crossed Amazon forum (I think) that Mercy will stay true to who she is as a character (I'm paraphrasing here :) which is good to know!

Oh, and I finished Melusine on the weekend...Ummm..WOW!oranniahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14007355589161084262noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5146259764837045872.post-50895625350229625162009-03-08T23:48:00.000-04:002009-03-08T23:48:00.000-04:00I'm very happy you enjoyed this one. I love her sense of humor and how true she stays to herself.Angiegirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00353676756221692186noreply@blogger.com
