(Or maybe before since it looks like the hell week from last week is continuing into this week. Went back to it during the weekend and found I had no problem concentrating, then work started again and it killed all my focus.)

Skyfall looks like a romance from the cover but I just figured it was a case of inaccurate cover art. Oh well, should be interesting to read about Soz's family anyway.

I also read "Young Miles" this weekend (most of it anyway since I started it before then). It was very good; I enjoyed it a lot. Bujold is a new author for me this year; I have to get the rest of the Miles books now.Kristenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01700004253248186101noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5146259764837045872.post-79980989522781916132008-07-22T20:13:00.000-04:002008-07-22T20:13:00.000-04:00I vote for "Crystal Rain." "Skyfall" is very light; it's more romance than scifi.

I read "Young Miles" this weekend. Bujold's writing is totally addictive. It's so fresh and crisp and clever, I can read all night. Friday night, after a full week's work, I stayed up until 3am reading it. The only thing I regret is that I haven't explored enough of new authors this year.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5146259764837045872.post-90677888032346717182008-07-18T17:59:00.000-04:002008-07-18T17:59:00.000-04:00Dark Wolf,I'm glad you had a good trip. :)I only h...Dark Wolf,

I'm glad you had a good trip. :)

I only have the first Novik novel but if I like the first one I'm sure I'll get the rest at some point.Kristenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01700004253248186101noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5146259764837045872.post-70659235936765715872008-07-18T02:42:00.000-04:002008-07-18T02:42:00.000-04:00The trip was pretty good, thank you :)And unfortun...The trip was pretty good, thank you :)
And unfortunately I haven't read "His Majesty's Dragon" and I have to aquire Naomi Novik's novels. And I didn't even know about the space zombies until now!

Dark Wolf - Have you read His Majesty's Dragon? Hope you had a good business trip!

Thrinidir - I read about 100 pages in Young Miles last night; I found it much easier to read with the exhausting week I've been having than Revelation Space, which is very dense and descriptive. You also make Crystal Rain sound very good; I'm starting to hope that one wins. ;) I am in the mood for something light at the moment, but that may change after the next week or two is over.

Thanks also for the link to Trin's Blood Follows review. On topic: I voted for Crystal Rain, because you seem to be searching for something light, and it just doesn't get any better than this :).ThRiNiDiRhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11235487104345529619noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5146259764837045872.post-29146238474044905292008-07-17T03:57:00.000-04:002008-07-17T03:57:00.000-04:00I will vote for Naomi Novik's novel :)I will vote for Naomi Novik's novel :)Mihai A.https://www.blogger.com/profile/08534691063946241019noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5146259764837045872.post-4922370948685485582008-07-16T22:36:00.000-04:002008-07-16T22:36:00.000-04:00I voted for Crystal Rain. Not only is it fun romp through a fascinating dimension hopping universe, but Bucknell's newest book in the series, Sly Mongoose (book 3), has "space zombies." I mean, does anything else need to be said? So I vote for you to catch up on the first two books, Crystal Rain and Ragammufin, and prepare yourself for [echo] zombies in space. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
