I seem to like human-like AI/robot stories for some reason.

Cinema Cafe Podcast - Like you, I've wanted to read something by Lee for a while, but this is the first of her books I have read. Biting the Sun and The Secret Books of Paradys are both on my bookshelf, though, so I'm sure I'll read those at some point. White as Snow always intrigued me just because I really love retold fairy tales. A lot of Lee's books that I keep hearing very good things about are out of print, unfortunately.

Orannia - No, I don't think I'll be reading the sequel. It's supposed to be pretty disappointing in comparison, and while I liked this one, I wasn't head over heels in love with it. I'll try something else by Lee first.Kristenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01700004253248186101noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5146259764837045872.post-65075321548129044542009-06-29T22:38:45.956-04:002009-06-29T22:38:45.956-04:00Hmmmmm.

Two of her books sit on my bookshelf, White as Snow and the book you just reviewed, and I have a feeling The Silver Metal Lover will continue to sit on my shelf thanks to your wonderful review. I've never been able to quite relate and enjoy books concerning themselves with female adolescent youth, perhaps because I am in fact male, so while the story of a lyrical robot intrigues me, my first Lee book will have to wait.

I'm curious, have you read many of Lee's work and if so, which one would you recommend to start with for a person who's never read any of her work? Thanks.Cinema Cafe Podcasthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02892108424961633277noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5146259764837045872.post-12323954592228701842009-06-29T03:44:58.364-04:002009-06-29T03:44:58.364-04:00Your good review showed me that this is not really...Your good review showed me that this is not really the book I would like to read. But that's just a matter of taste.
Anyway when I started to read your review immediately a movie popped up in my mind:
Bicentennial Man. Robin Williams performs a robot who tries to become more human. Heartwarming....ediFanoBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11129248787624088717noreply@blogger.com
